What is Tinnitus?

Tinnitus is commonly associated with- age related hearing loss, ear injury or problem with the circulatory system. Tinnitus is kind of internal sound which are ringing, buzzing, clicking, hissing, humming within your ear. The noise of Tinnitus varies in pitch from low to high. It can be present all the time or it may come and go. It may become so severe that you find it difficult to hear, or concentrate on external sound, even find more difficult to sleep for its disturbing noise. It may be present in one ear or both ears. Tinnitus can occur either with or without hearing loss.

Causes of Tinnitus:

Most common identifiable causes of tinnitus include:

  • Hearing loss
  • Exposure to loud noise
  • Medication side effect
  • Fluid build-up behind ear canal
  • High or low blood pressure
  • Heart disease
  • Problem in blood vessels
  • Misalignment of jaw joint
  • Excessive smoking & alcohol effect
  • Stress, anxiety, hypertension
